Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Patrick Chan has been figure skating since the age of five. Since then, he has won three consecutive national titles from 2003 to 2005 from three different levels: pre-novice, novice, and junior. In 2006, while making his senior debut, he also became the first Canadian men’s figure skater since 1984 to place top three at the World Figure Skating Championships. This earned him a trip to the 2009 ISU Four Continents and the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships.
